GTA 6 story and playable characters
On December 4, 2023, Rockstar Games unveiled the first trailer for GTA 6, introducing Lucia as one of the main characters. Earlier leaks from 2023 suggested that the game might feature two playable protagonists. The trailer appears to confirm this, showing Lucia and an unnamed male partner engaging in robberies together.
The storyline seems to focus on the duo’s efforts to execute a major heist. The game is set in and around Vice City, and the trailer hints at Lucia having a history of incarceration. While details about the male protagonist remain scarce, both characters prominently appear on the game’s title card, suggesting they are central to the narrative and gameplay.
There had been speculation that actor Troy Baker, known for his role in The Last of Us, might portray the male protagonist. However, Baker clarified that he is not involved, expressing support for the actor taking on the role and hoping they receive recognition for their performance.

GTA 6 location: We’re heading back to Vice City
Rockstar Games is bringing players back to Vice City in the highly anticipated release of GTA 6, set to launch in 2025. Unlike the original game, which was set in 1986, this installment unfolds in a contemporary setting. The game will take place in the state of Leonida, featuring the vibrant, neon-lit streets of Vice City along with other new areas. Rockstar describes this as the “biggest and most immersive evolution” in the Grand Theft Auto series, hinting at an expansive map that extends beyond Vice City itself.
The recently revealed trailer showcases a stunningly reimagined Vice City, complete with a nod to the chaotic charm of rural Florida. Familiar locations, such as Starfish Island, are back, and fans are eager to discover if iconic landmarks like the Malibu Club, Ocean View Hotel, and Little Haiti make a return. The detailed recreation of Vice City has sparked comparisons between the trailer and the original game’s locations, highlighting the incredible level of care put into updating this beloved setting.
While much remains to be unveiled, it’s clear that GTA 6 will deliver a fresh yet nostalgic experience, blending old favorites with new adventures.

GTA 6 leaks: Are the GTA 6 leaks real?
In September 2022, an unexpected leak shook the gaming world when videos and screenshots from what appeared to be an early build of Grand Theft Auto 6 surfaced online. The massive breach prompted Rockstar Games to confirm the incident, describing it as a “network intrusion” that allowed an unauthorized party to access and share confidential information, including early development materials for the next installment in the GTA series.
Rockstar expressed disappointment over the premature exposure, assuring fans that updates and an official reveal would come at the appropriate time. They also thanked their community for continued support during the challenging situation.
Following the leak, significant efforts were made to remove traces of the material. Forums like GTA Forums and dedicated GTA 6 subreddits worked to comply with copyright demands, removing leaked media while permitting discussions that did not link or share the content.
Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar’s parent company, also addressed the situation, labeling the leak as “unfortunate.” Despite the breach, CEO Strauss Zelnick stated that no critical assets were compromised and assured that the incident wouldn’t affect the game’s development timeline. However, it served as a wake-up call for strengthening cybersecurity measures.
The individual accused of orchestrating the breach, an 18-year-old reportedly associated with the Lapsus$ hacking group, has been deemed mentally unfit for trial. This development has added another layer of complexity to the ongoing saga.
Interestingly, a single screenshot from the leak has reportedly evaded Rockstar’s aggressive copyright takedowns, surviving as a rare remnant of the incident.

GTA 6 map: new details
Although the official GTA 6 map hasn’t been revealed, hints from leaked videos and images suggest the game will feature a play area that goes beyond the boundaries of Vice City.
Similar to how Rockstar expanded Los Santos between Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and GTA 5, some of the leaked content appears to showcase entirely new sections of Vice City. Since Vice City is inspired by Miami, there’s growing speculation that the game might extend further south into regions resembling the Everglades (wetlands) and the Florida Keys (a chain of tropical islands).
Interestingly, the “Gator Keys,” which were mentioned in a radio broadcast in the original GTA: Vice City, were never included as a playable area. If the leaks are accurate, the GTA 6 map might offer a diverse mix of landscapes and settings.
Fans believe the GTA 6 map could significantly surpass the size of the map in GTA 5. By analyzing leaked coordinates, members of the GTA 6 subreddit have been working on piecing the map together, even using tools like Google Earth and Paint to visualize the potential layout. Their creativity is driving plenty of excitement among the community.
